British author George Orwell is best known in our country for his book Nineteen Eighty-Four. Animal Farm- is another very famous work of his that has become one of the modern classics. This novel, which is a criticism of "real socialism" in the 1940s, is considered one of the masterpieces of the satire genre in world literature. The main characters of Animal Farm are animals. Animals living on a farm rebel against the people who exploit them and take over the management of the farm. Their goal is to create a more egalitarian community. The pigs, the smartest among them, soon form a leading team, but they also lead the revolution astray. Unfortunately, a dictatorship that is more oppressive and cruel than people has now been established. George Orwell criticizes a historical fact in this novel. It is clear that the leading pig in the novel directly symbolizes Stalin. Even though the other heroes do not resemble real people, they are people who could be in a dictatorship environment. Subtitled A Fairy Tale, Animal Farm - written as a fairy tale, but not a fairy tale to entertain the little ones - is a striking political satire.
