“ BepanJel® is a paraben-free hydrogel used in the treatment of small wounds such as sunburn, burns, cuts, skin cracks and abrasions. Its main purpose is to regulate the wound microenvironment by providing a moist and slightly acidic wound environment. BepanJel® indirectly helps the wound healing process by controlling the moisture and pH level of the wound during the healing process. It does not contain paraben. The body responds to the wound as quickly as possible by creating a shell that covers the damaged part of the skin and acts as a barrier against microorganisms. However – this temporary scab – must heal as soon as possible to speed up the healing process and reduce the likelihood of scarring. Therefore, it is very important not only to disinfect the wound - but also to keep it moist during healing. Also - many wounds (e.g. burns) initially dry out because they lose all moisture. For this reason, “smart hydrogels” such as BepanJel® are used, which moisturize the wound and prevent it from drying out, while also absorbing excess moisture if the wound becomes too moist. An ideal moisture content in the wound prevents the formation of crusts and cracks, ensures optimal healing of the skin and prevents scarring. Since the selected excipients support the hydrogel activity – BepanJel® also has a direct cooling and soothing effect.”
