Piano Method 1
Piano Method 1 and 2 books - Piano 1-2-3 and 4, which were dictated by the Ministry of National Education between 2000 and 2010 to be taught as compulsory textbooks in fine arts high schools and have a special importance because they are the first books written for this purpose in our country. It is an improved version of the books. While the books were being reconsidered and developed, the programs of music education departments within education faculties, music departments of fine arts faculties, conservatories and private music schools, as well as fine arts high schools, were also taken into consideration. The works in the books were written taking into account the behaviors that are intended to be acquired from the beginning of piano education and were selected from among the works in the piano literature, taking into account the level-grade system. In the ordering of these selected works within the books, care was taken to ensure that they were works of similar difficulty levels from different periods and that they were supported by studies. However, at this stage - although the sections are at different difficulty levels, the sonatas - are given with all their sections so that they can be recognized - and it is left to the teacher's choice at what level the difficult section will be played. Technical studies, which are one of the indispensable dimensions of piano education, and the most commonly used scale and arpeggio exercises, are presented as a separate fascicle in the books for the reason that they can be studied easily. The maqam works belonging to Enver Tufan, which are included in the books written for fine arts high schools, have been enriched with newly written pieces in different maqams and added to the end of the first book as a chapter called "Songs from Us - 17 Pieces for Piano". While writing the modal works in question, it was aimed to both support the targeted behaviors in the Piano Method 1 and 2 books and to contribute to the promotion of Turkish music in a contemporary sense by using the modes and rhythms that form the building blocks of our own traditional music.
