Reversi Game The game, whose original name is Othello, is known as Reversi in our country. 1- Reversi game consists of an 8x8 platform. In other words, there are 64 squares in total on the game platform. Each player has 32 tiles in their hand. One side of these stones is black and the other side is white. One of the players chooses the color black and the other chooses the color white. 2- The first move in the game is the player with the black piece. Black making the first move provides an advantage, albeit a small one. Therefore, it is recommended that the more inexperienced player takes the black stone. It starts with and no color has any superiority over the other. 3- To start the game, first 2 white and 2 black stones must be placed in the middle of the game platform. You cannot start with an empty gaming platform. So players actually start the game with 30 tiles in their hands. 4- The aim of the game is to capture the opponent's pieces between your own pieces. If the opponent's pieces get between your pieces, the pieces are turned over and returned to your color. You can understand it better by examining the photo below. 5- As you can see in the example above, the player with the black stone placed his stone on the platform with the white stone in between, and the white stone in the middle was turned upside down and became black. The black player also achieved a black group of 3 vertically. In the Reversi game, the same group can also form horizontally and diagonally. You will see the cross version in the picture below. 6- In each move in the Reversi (Othello) game, you must change at least one tile to your own color. If you do not have a move to flip the opponent's piece, you have to pass and give the opponent's turn to move. For this reason, it is forbidden to place tiles on irrelevant parts of the game board. So no empty moves can be made. This situation may sometimes lead to compulsory moves that will give you a disadvantage. That's why you should establish a correct strategy from the very beginning of the game. 7- Always try to limit the moves your opponent can make. You may consider saving a move that seems very logical during the game for later. Because in the reversi game, things can suddenly turn upside down. Try to make long-term and logical moves. 8- Of course, you should avoid moves that will limit your own moves during the game. It would be much better to spread the pieces logically across the playing platform rather than just having a single corner or edge. 9- At the end of the game - whoever has the most tiles on the game platform wins the game.
