Zahter, which is likened to thyme due to its appearance, is also known as black thyme among the public. It grows wild in the Central and Southern Anatolia regions. In addition to being used as a spice in meals, zahter, which is also used as a tea, has many benefits. Zahter, combined with products such as salt, sesame seeds and marjoram, can be used as a breakfast sauce. Zahter, which grows in regions such as Antalya, Gaziantep, Kilis and Iskenderun and is also called "Black thyme", has been widely used and consumed in recent years. Zahter, which is pulverized and consumed at breakfast, is eaten pickled with olive oil.
